Zusammenfassung:The research about evaluation of wind and solar potential of the rural sector Langoa in the Latacunga canton – 2013. Technological design and proposal of an alternative generation system is carried out with the purpose of conducting the technological design and proposal of an electrical generation system with the use of alternative sources of energy, from a study of wind and solar potential in the rural sector Langoa, located in Latacunga canton, in Cotopaxi province. With the aim to electrify rural housing without access to electricity, allowing to improve the life quality of its inhabitants. To develop this research, it was necessary to start on the collection of information from Wind Atlas of Ecuador; Ecuador Solar Atlas and field measurements of wind speed with an anemometer located ten meters high. With this information and the benefits of WINDOGRAPHER Software, it was come to correlate the measured values with the Atlas values for an average year rate measurement type. Housing type was selected to electrify, the amount of electricity was determined that can be generated with an alternative energy generation; the system was sized determining all the necessary elements for its running. Then with the help of HOMER Software the system simulation was performed in order to get a powerful and efficient system by determining which energy source is best for the generating system and the technical, economic and environmental assessment of the proposal was made.
