Sammanfattning:The present research aims to determine the presence of the Andean wolf (Lycalopex Culpeaus) in the Paramos of the Pastocalle parish using the global positioning method. This method is developed through observations of signs of presence of the species under study, through the demarcation of transects in key places where these signs are located (feces, fur, footprints, remains, etc.), then these points are located within the map of the area to be studied. With this method, we are able to obtain exact coordinates of the location of several signs of presence of the animal under study and with them we determine zones, climates, temperatures and terrains of preference for the activities of the Andean wolf (Lycalopex Culpeaus). The presence of the Andean wolf (Lycalopex Culpeaus) is also analyzed due to anthropic activities such as the constant growth of the agricultural and cattle frontier, which is necessary for the development of the economic activities of the towns, but it is also the cause of changes in the behavior of the wild fauna; This is in addition to other factors such as climate change that nowadays makes climates undefined and this in turn causes species to have to adapt to various climates, as is the case of the Andean wolf (Lycalopex Culpeaus), this study is carried out through direct observation of the species carrying out their daily activities in areas where they share territory with humans. Another factor to consider is human interaction in fauna conservation areas such as the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve, where there is no control of tourism and where there are several signs of destruction, soil erosion, water contamination, etc. The study of this area does not verify the incidence of feral dogs and their effect on the habitat of the Andean wolf (Lycalopex Culpeaus). Since no attacks have been recorded as in other areas of the Canton's paramo, this is verified through surveys of people who live and work in the area and who can attest to whether the species under study has caused damage or if, on the contrary, it has gone unnoticed.
