Summary:In Ecuador the cultural variety reflected in each province is notorious but over the years some of them are fading fade away for different reasons, whether migration or acculturation among others, traditions and customs are weakening and with this the ancestral knowledge. It should be noted that this situation is not in a general way since in some indigenous communities their cultural identity is still maintained and in the community of Laguamasa, Cusubamba parish, Salcedo canton, of the Cotopaxi province, the bull horn as a communication tool has persisted as a cultural reference of its community in spite of the different technological advances of communication. For this we have decided as a research group to study the elements that have influenced so that the bull horn persists as a communication tool in the community of Laguamasa, this through the qualitative methodology, working with the inhabitants (older adults and representatives) of the community through semi-structured interviews and a focus group, deducing sociocultural qualities, detailing the technological characteristics of the community and determining the relationship between both factors
