要約:The design and dimensioning of a continuous band dryer for hydrophilic cotton was performed since there is a need to reduce the processing time in the cotton drying area because the existing system is a drying chamber with heat exchangers whose energy source is a cauldron steam which limits drying capacity which is not efficient beacause the chamber have a volume of approximately 40 cubic meters this chamber was designed for the drying of cotton wicks so it consumes many resources to obtain the desired temperature And the temperature distribution is not uniform it is necessary to turn the batches located in the drying trays so that moisture can be removed from the lot evenly, which causes that the drying time extend up to four hours in a lot of forty kilos of wet cotton at 40% of initial humidity in turn also happens that loading and unloading of the lots consumes a lot of time. The design of the hydrophilic cotton web dryer allows a reduction of the drying time of one hour for a batch of thirty kilos of wet product to 40% initial moisture leaving it with a final moisture of 7% to 10% in turn with the study and experimentation it was concluded that by varying the drying temperature it was possible to obtain reductions in drying time, the most important drying parameters are the cotton bed height and temperature.
