Gaia:In the Cotopaxi province, specifically in the Latacunga canton, there are stories, legends and myths, what mention some tangible and intangible heritage kind from city. Way that, with the time passing, cultural identity has been lost or modified, due to this information type is not easily found by browsing the Internet, but rather, on the contrary, it is only found in old books. These books most cases, they are in poor condition, as a consequence, these stories do not spread easily. That is why, the current project narrates in a more current style, one the most symbolic legends, the legend from Virgen de la Merced, in order to promote the mashca culture. This project highlights the Christopher Johns design method, what is developed in three phases, the input phase, where is collected information. The creative phase, which is a critical stage, which is transformed the information and output, a synthesis stage, what converges all the options in a single proposal. This methodology is combined with the creative process proposed by the illustrator Jaime Martín, who has to see with illustration techniques. For making this comic, it started from legend study, through the bibliographic research techniques and interviews directed to historians from city. As well as the morphological study and cultural heritage forms abstraction, what are enunciated in the xii legend, especially, it is recorded and analyzed the sculptural image from Virgen de la Merced. For this, it was used the photographic record, patrimonial registration cards and morphological cards, which help to determine informative and figurative aspects, what were considered in the Storyboard design. As a creative development result, it was got a 20-page magazine, which a legend adaptation from Virgen de la Merced in comic style is shown.
