| Summary: | The research was carried out in Anchilivi sector, Salcedo, Cotopaxi to evaluate the effect of the ozone application (O3) on the control of mildew (Peronospora variabilis) in the cultivation of quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) Var. INIAP Tunkahuan. A completely randomized design (DBCA) with 6 treatments for 3 repetitions plus 2 witnesses with a total of 24 experimental units was implemented. The water Ozonator (QJ-8003K) and an ozone meter (Palintest) were used with 2 concentrations (0.3 ppm - 0.5 ppm), 3 application frequencies (8 days, 15 days, and 30 days) directly at the plant; a chemical control (Topas 100 EC) and an absolute control were applied. It is concluded that the best treatment based on concentration and frequency was T4 (0.5 ppm every 8 days), with the following results in the variables; days to panicle (66 days), the height of the plant (1.69 m), the length of the panicle (49.7 cm), the severity of lower leaves (0.97%), the severity of intermediate leaves (1.11%) and the severity tall leaves (0%), the incidence of the disease (36.11%), the days to harvest (190.67 days), the yield (6.2 kg), the degree of sporulation (19.99%) with a scale of sporulation of (1) Simple sporangiophore and in accordance with the cost-benefit, a net profit of $1.86 was presented, which represents that for every dollar invested, $1.86 is earned. This technology will allow farmers to produce cleaner quinoa since the results obtained have improved harvests. |
