要約:This degree project aims to implement a crucible furnace to melt recycled aluminum at the Technical University of Cotopaxi. The first step was to investigate the current situation of the country regarding aluminum smelting, recycled, and an inquiry to evaluate what type of furnace is the most used to melt this material. The correct implementation of the melting methods is a fundamental part of the melting process and will result in compliance with the specifications for a quality product. Sand smelting consists of melting aluminum in a sand mold, allowing it to solidify, and then breaking the mold to remove the piece; the furnace is to get the temperature established to melt the aluminum. The furnace implemented contains processes, such as research about the available materials for its development, executing the necessary procedures for proper handling of the materials to be melted, and making operation tests. Finally, the most appropriate process of use for the equipment drafted.
