| Izvleček: | The present research was done in Río Negro parish, which is located in Baños de Agua Santa city, Tungurahua province. It pretends to know the environmental impacts that generate the tourist activities. Nowadays, the parish has focused on developing tourism, taking advantage its location and the biodiversity that it has. To implement the research, some meetings with the authorities of the parish were held to know the actual situation in tourism through visits. Visits were made in situ, based on each one was obtained the inventory of the activities of the different villages. The registration was made by applying the cards of the MINTUR,determining in this way that the principal activities to develop in the place: fishing, trekking to the orchids and visits to natural spas. These activities were evaluated through the matrix of Leopold where it was observed the main causes of the negative impacts, on the biophysical component. Having already identified which are the main negative impacts to know the magnitude that has each one inside of the tourist activities, among those stand out, pollution of the river by the overflow of the waters of the fish farms, soil degradation and loss of habitats. Through analysis of comparison of the obtained data the calculation of the arithmetic mean and the standard deviation of the negative impacts to determine the ranges of variation; obtaining as a result an average impact in the water of the rivers that are closed to the fishing. Depending on it, it concluded that the environmental impact generated by the activities is average and they can be mitigated through a series of strategies such as implementation of treatment plants for water reuse, among other, which will help to develop better tourism |
