Zusammenfassung:For the evaluation of the irrigation project two situations, one optimized background situation "without project" and other "with project", each with their respective costs and benefits differ. The difference in costs and benefits between these two situations, allow to obtain the net profit attributable to the project. The convenience of its realization depends on whether the benefits associated with it outweigh its costs; or else, if not profitable should not be carried out. In this context, what was done in the project is a guideline to economically evaluate the implementation of irrigation projects, in order to have a common tool for comparison and prioritization for implementation and better allocation of resources in the sector. This study was conducted in the parish Pastocalle Latacunga Canton, in the period 2000 and 2010, were investigated each of the properties located in each parish Pastocalle or Tanicuchi covering the irrigation canal Alumis. The surface of each canton is divided into quadrants of 1 ha, because fashion minimum size of a plot in the rural area is 1 ha. Because there are areas where there are no rural land as is the case of protected areas and urban areas, these areas are excluded from spatial analysis and only considered the quadrants containing one rural property. Each of the identified strata sample size, as appropriate strata or cluster in some cases coincide with the parish administrative political boundary is determined. Each layer is identified points to be sampled by selection by Random Number. In a quadrant selected by random numbers, any property located within it can be surveyed at the discretion of the Field Researcher. Each pixel is chosen locates on the map, later to facilitate the planning of field work regarding personnel and mobilization to research it. Whereas, according to information from the directors, the surface of the land under irrigation is 850.00 hectares and the value increased to every hectare, due to the implementation of irrigation is $ 16,455.13 USD. Incremental total land value for the irrigation project "Alumís" is $ 13'.986.860,50 USD., Which would cap value, until I could get the total value of investments, with no losses for the cotopaxense and Ecuadorian society. This research opens the possibility of using their results in other irrigation projects to determine quickly and clearly their profitability, thereby allowing crucial decisions to beneficiaries of these works, for their participation and empowerment from the study phase feasibility to construction, operation and maintenance and agricultural development project.
