In addition, one of the most representative genres of Latin music was analyzed, which is currently the genre of reggaeton, which takes force from the year 2000. However, this urban musical genre triggers empty messages and out of respect, especially when it is about women, presenting violent messages and influencing to the ideology of those who listen to it. A discourse analysis was applied both as a qualitative methodological contribution and as part of the theoretical framework. Through two different approaches: social and gender. Likewise, the methodological approach is based on four reggaeton songs that were trending in 2019, in two of the most listened radio stations in Latacunga city, Cotopaxi province in Ecuador. The discourse analysis helps to identify discrimination against women because of the influence of the reggaeton musical genre in origin of their musical lyrics. Violence and stereotypes towards women are evident not only in real life, but have also been integrated into the various media through music and advertising; It should be noted that it has increased in recent years in an almost undetectable manner. Thanks to the multiple virtual platforms, communication is currently liquid, due to the appropriation of the new technology and the benefits it shares. Mediatization promotes the divulgation of messages. This is exactly what happened with the reggaeton genre, the same one that conquered the traditional and modern means, exerting a force on the masses and granting themselves power of influence over them. The present investigation shows the relevance of music as a communicational form in the environment of generation z (hereinafter teenagers), which is ascribed to specific musical forms such as the genre of reggaeton. |

Esta investigación cavila sobre la función que juega la música como medio de comunicación alternativo y como un fenómeno socio-cultural que sugiere formas de ver y entender al mundo. Se analizó uno de los géneros más representativos de la música latina, que actualmente es el género del reggaetón, que toma fuerza a partir del año 2000. No obstante, este género musical urbano detona mensajes vacíos y apartados de respeto, sobre todo cuando se trata de la mujer, presentando mensajes violentos e influyendo en la ideología de quienes lo escuchan. A su vez, se aplicó un análisis de discurso tanto como aporte metodológico cualitativo y como parte del marco teórico, por medio de dos diferentes enfoques: social y género. Igualmente, el acercamiento metodológico se basó en cuatro canciones de reggaetón que se encontraron en tendencia en el año 2019, en dos de las radios más escuchadas de la ciudad de Latacunga, provincia de Cotopaxi en Ecuador. El análisis de discurso contribuye a identificar la discriminación hacia la mujer a causa de la influencia del género musical del reggaetón en procedencia de sus letras musicales. La violencia y estereotipos hacia la mujer son evidentes no solo en la vida real, sino que además se han integrado a los diversos medios de comunicación a través de la música y publicidad; cabe recalcar que se ha incrementado en los últimos años de una manera casi indetectable. Gracias a las múltiples plataformas virtuales, actualmente la comunicación es líquida, por la apropiación de la nueva tecnología y los beneficios que esta comparte. La mediatización promueve a la divulgación de los mensajes. Esto es exactamente lo que sucedió con el género del reggaetón, el mismo que conquistó los medios tradicionales y modernos, ejerciendo una fuerza sobre las masas y otorgándose poder de influencia sobre ellas.
