Shrnutí:The objective of this project was to analyze the accounting process at Jet Agua Company, a water distribution company in Cotopaxi province, Ecuador, in order to improve its financial management. The lack of a structured process for its accounting functions led to deficiencies at the company’s financial and administrative control, so resulting in inaccurate financial statements and poor financial management. The gathered information was analyzed and systematized. It provided a complete analysis of the distributor’s current accounting situation. A SWOT matrix was used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with the current accounting process. The project benefited the company’s owner, manager, accounting, assistant accountant, suppliers, and customers. The included activities were focused on visiting the company, conducting interviews, and using financial indicators to evaluate the impact of the accounting process. The main objective was to propose a manual of functions for the distribution company that sells bottled water in Ecuador. An analysis was made on the financial statements process that reflected the daily operations of the company and its economic performance during the period of this research. The financial statements contained information about the company’s revenues, expenses and equity, and were used to evaluate its financial status and to make important decisions, as well as to identify the profitability of the entity.
