Summary:Bell pepper (Capsicum annuum) is one of the most demanded vegetables in the national market and of great impact in the canton of La Maná. Luis Chiguano's property, located in the El Carmen parish of La Mana canton, Cotopaxi province. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of a foliar fertilizer and an edaphic fertilizer in the cultivation of peppers. For this purpose, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was implemented, consisting of three treatments (T1=Gallinaza, T2=Biol, T3=Testigo) and four replications with eight experimental units. An analysis of variance was performed and Tukey's multiple range test (P≤ 0.05) was used for the comparison of averages per treatment. The variables evaluated were: plant height (cm), days to flowering, fruit diameter (cm), yield (kg/ha) and benefit/cost ratio. The results showed statistical differences between treatments, with a similar pattern being repeated in each of the variables evaluated, since biol showed greater height at 30 and 60 days after transplanting (25.45 and 55.18 cm), greater precocity at flowering (50 days), greater fruit diameters at the first and second harvest (3.11 and 5.01 cm), and greater yield (9435.32 kg/ha). However, the best cost-benefit ratio was presented by gallinaza at $0.73. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of biol significantly improved the agronomic and productive characteristics of the bell pepper plants, but in terms of profitability, gallinaza stood out above the others tratments.
