Yhteenveto:The research aimed to establish the incidence of folk dance in the psychomotor development of the students of the "National Union of Journalists" School; Of the canton La Maná during the period 2016-2017; To meet the objectives set, a diagnosis was made using research instruments such as surveys aimed at students, parents and an interview with the institution's teacher; Also a direct observation was made to the students of the first to the third year of Basic Education using observation tokens; Whose results allowed to know the low level in the practice of the folkloric dance; In addition to problems in the lack of coordination, imbalance, problems of abilities to assemble puzzles and the little creativity to solve cognitive problems, is for that reason that the proposal of the design of a methodological guide on the folkloric dance like resource to impel the development of the motor capacities Thin and thick through warm-up exercises, strategies using body movements, involving the use of steps of sanjuanitos and albazos, a situation that allowed the development of skills such as balance, coordination, creativity, perception and greater self-confidence; The development of activities such as the resolution of puzzles and coloring illustrations with folk motifs and the organization of choreographies that were made and presented at institutional and local level; The aforementioned activities contributed to a significant improvement in the psychomotor skills of the twenty-nine students of the mentioned institution and consequently to the satisfactory results in the educational field.
