Opis
Streszczenie:The present research project was developed based on landscape valuation, with the objective of analyzing the quality of landscape conditions within the Palopo Commune, located in the Ignacio Flores Parish in the Province of Cotopaxi, through the application of methodologies focused on the establishment and evaluation of landscape units which are: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) method and the Visual Absorption Capacity (CAV) method, which allowed characterization based on qualitative and quantitative values established on various numerical weighting scales focused on determining the components (texture, color, relief, erodibility, slope, vegetation, scenic context, line, spatial configuration). For this purpose, field visits and surveys were carried out based on non-probabilistic random sampling, with the purpose of getting to know directly the activities carried out in the place. The results obtained showed that the BLM method yielded a value of 17 in the study area, which corresponds to a medium quality of the landscape; on the other hand, by applying the CAV, a weighting of 24 was obtained, which defines that the landscape is of medium fragility. As a preventive measure, management activities are required to ensure the protection of the natural landscape in order to conserve, regenerate and maintain the study area in good environmental conditions that are favorable for locals and visitors, thus preserving natural resources for future generations.
