الملخص:This research objective was to develop emotional intelligence strategies for the work performance strengthening in the employees at the Patronato Municipal from Latacunga, was carried out under the descriptive type quantitative approach, two instruments of data collection were used a survey, 24 items to evaluate emotional intelligence, has a reliability of Cronbach’s Alpha (a=0.9339) and a questionnaire, 30 items that allowed to evaluate the work performance perception with a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability of (a=0.6278). Both instruments have a Likert scale. They were applied to a sample of 68 collaborators. As a result, was found that there is a percentage of 41.11% of collaborators who have adequate emotional intelligence; 35.60% and 23.28% where there is no evidence of adequate emotional intelligence. In the institution, 90% of employees perceive their work performance in an excellent way, therefore, is proposed an emotional care manual in which there are activities that will improve communication and generate confidence with other employees. Also proposed is a training on emotional clarity, in which dynamics are performed that allow collaborators to recognize and have clarity of their feelings, and finally an emotional regulation program in which permanent activities will be carried out to improve the reasoning and problem solving of employees.
