| Summary: | The present investigation was carried out through the Institutional project "Strengthening of teaching and agricultural extension competences of the University, through the analytical strengthening of its laboratory", and was carried out in lot six of the Technical University of Cotopaxi located in the Salache sector in the Eloy Alfaro neighborhood, Canton Latacunga, The objective was to determine the physical-chemical properties of the soil, establishing basic soil laboratory techniques to analyze the chemical properties, such as pH (hydrogen potential), %MO (Percentage of Organic Matter), C. E (Electrical Conductivity), CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity) and Ca, Na, K, N concentrations, as well as physical properties such as %Po (Percent Porosity), Dr. (True Density), Da. (Bulk Density), soil structure and soil texture; The first phase consisted of the elaboration of a guide of basic techniques, adapted from techniques and manuals found in different bibliographic sources, which was implemented in the Soil Laboratory of the Technical University of Cotopaxi. In the second phase, six soil subsamples were collected for analysis and the results were validated with those obtained from a composite soil sample from the aforementioned sector and analyzed in the INIAP soil laboratory. From the data obtained, it was determined that the soil analyzed had the following physical and chemical characteristics: pH 8.07 (slightly moderate), %MO 2.60 (medium level), C. E 1342.50 dS/m (high level), CIC 123.86 meq/gr (high level), Ca, 2146.67 ppm (medium level) Na, 123ppm (medium level) K, ppm 443.50 (low level) N, 30.60ppm (low level), Po 79.21% (excessive porosity), Dr 2.14g/cm3. (medium level), Da2.917 g/cm3 (very high), Soil Structure 5.08% (stable) and Soil Texture (sandy loam). The parameters corroborate that 60% are in an acceptable range of similarity, which validates the reliability of 90% in the basic techniques proposed with a margin of error of 10%. |
