Adicionar Tag | Resumo: | This research project focused on conducting a complete analysis, both from a technical and economic point of view, on the feasibility of changing conventional public lighting for LED technology in the province of Cotopaxi. A methodology was implemented that involved the extraction of historical data of the existing luminaires in the provincial electric company of Cotopaxi. Also, a forecast of future changes in luminaires was carried out using the Excel statistical function known as PREVISION.ETS, which determined the number of luminaires that could be increased or decreased in the future depending on the type of luminaire in the general public lighting system. In terms of economic evaluation, the costs and powers related to the transition from mercury and sodium luminaires to LED technology were analyzed and financial indicators such as Present Value (PV), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) were used. The purpose of this comprehensive analysis was to determine whether or not it is feasible to replace conventional luminaires with LED technology luminaires, considering a time horizon of 25 years, based on the useful life of the luminaires. |
