| Summary: | The purpose of this research project is to develop a time study in the FUNDYMEC company dedicated to the manufacture of aluminum castings. Considering that aluminum transmission pulleys in their two pulley presentations with a diameter of 2 and 4 inches, are the most commercialized products in the market, the decision is made to apply the study to the production process of these elements. Within the aluminum pulley production line, it is affected by bottlenecks, downtime, machine stoppages, and delays. Therefore, it is essential to have a time study of the production area, so the present project is focused on it, applying a descriptive investigation, using the inductive method, the activities carried out in the areas that require analysis for a post optimization. It is necessary to identify all the processes through a general flow diagram of the process to have a clearer idea of how a movement transmission pulley is carried out, together with an analytical flowchart where the specific activities are presented. The fundamental basis of the project lies in the study of times, through the technique of returning to zero once the general process and the areas of analysis have been identified, taking into account key factors such as the assessment of the pace of work, the basic time and the supplements. to obtain the standard time which in turn allows to determine the current capacity of the plant. Finally, after the study carried out and its respective analysis, an improvement is proposed by eliminating or combining certain activities with a reduction in the standard time of the 2-inch pulley with two channels of 3.01 minutes to make a unit, increasing its production rates of 24 to 29 pulleys per day, the same way with the 4-inch pulley with a groove, reducing its standard time by 2.96 minutes and with an increase in productivity from 22 to 26 pulleys per day. |
