Summary:In the present project it consists of proposing a design of a prototype of a handlebar with electrical assistance coupled to a wheelchair, in order to obtain an innovative prototype. Mainly, a study based on the type of means of mobility is carried out, the types of wheelchairs are classified according to the established norms, the medical environment of patients with physical disabilities is equally highlighted, focusing with emphasis on paraplegia, an approach is also carried out in the legal field in the norms that are stipulated at national and international level. Once the problems have been identified, the device is designed, which must comply with the technical and mechanical characteristics, it must be ergonomic and functional. For the design of our `project, SolidWorks software is used, the design is based in a percentile way on the anthropometric data of 23 Ecuadorian people, in which characteristics that will be used for the calculation of force are handled together with the obtained design and power. acquire good results allowing the solution to be close to reality. Finally, a diagram of the process is presented that details the manufacturing phases of construction and assembly of the prototype, as well as a price analysis with the objective of examining the ease of acquiring the equipment and the ease of construction.
