Summary:Early stimulation of language development allows to relate to others in a clear and understandable way. The present research was carried out at Provincia de Cotopaxi, Pujilí Canton. In which a problem was found in relation to children at the first year of secondary school, from 5 to 6 years old, who have difficulties in developing oral language. Therefore, it was detected that methodological strategies are not applied to prevent progress or improve the language of children; and therefore, the needs of children are not prioritized. The objective of this project was to diagnose the level of development of oral language in children. It used a qualitative approach based on a bibliographic-documentary and field study design. The type of research was exploratory and descriptive, which allowed to know the reality about the level of oral language in children. We worked with 36 children (12 girls and 24 boys) and the tutor. In conclusion, at a phonological and morphosyntactic level, 58% of children are in process; at a semantic level, 61% are in process; and at a pragmatic level, 58% are in process. In summary, the low pronunciation of the words was evidenced through a small demonstrative class, and the most used methodological strategy was the pictogram, where the children observed images and then pronounced what word it was, thus allowing to observe the level of development of children's language.
