For this, a methodology with a quantitative approach and a descriptive research level was applied that allowed analyzing the level and behavior of the variables that intervene in the different accounting accounts, with annual time series data, likewise, a documentary design was used. -bibliographic to collect information about the variables, applying an insolvency prediction model called Z1-Altman. Thus, it was possible to verify the effectiveness of the model and analyze the financial situation of the companies. |

Thus, it was possible to verify the effectiveness of the model and analyze the financial situation of the companies.El presente proyecto de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de riesgo de insolvencia financiera en las empresas del sector manufacturero del cantón Latacunga bajo el modelo Z1-Altman en el periodo 2012 – 2020 con un total de 6 empresas de 8 años de actividad continua, mediante el estudio de variables a través de cuentas contables de los estados financieros de las empresas. Para ello, se aplicó una metodología con enfoque cuantitativo y un nivel de investigación descriptivo que permitió analizar el nivel y comportamiento de las variables que intervienen en las diferentes cuentas contables, con datos de series de tiempo anual, así mismo, se utilizó un diseño documental-bibliográfico para recopilar información acerca de las variables, aplicando un modelo de predicción de insolvencia denominado Z1- Altman.
