Description
Résumé:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the aesthetic value and visual fragility of the landscape units in La Comuna la Libertad, which is located in the province of Cotopaxi. Visual absorption quality (CAV) and, subsequently, fragility and visual sensitivity were determined using a methodology that focused on the identification of landscape units and production systems based on the standards established by the Bureau of Land Management method. (BLM). To give weight to each of the criteria and components established for the evaluation of the landscape through the analysis of the photographs recorded from the study area, an approach of quantitative values that were identified through photographs was developed. Field visits were made to the site to identify the various activities carried out there and surveys were created to determine the best way to obtain the photos. As a result, it was determined that the landscape has a high visual quality of class A, where its regions present distinctive features with an average of 19.75. The visual absorption capacity belongs to class II, presenting the fragility of an average landscape with an average of 25.0 and a class II fragility with an average of 22.25, indicating that the landscape has a moderate degree of fragility. The findings of the study support the conclusion that the area requires conservation, regeneration and restoration efforts, as well as the implementation of landscape management and conservation initiatives, which is why a conservation proposal was implemented that will allow solving the problems that affect the landscape. in the commune of Liberty.
