Ամփոփում:The Kichwa language is one of the ancestral languages mostly used in Ecuador. However, at present, the processes of globalization and the imposition of the dominant Western culture over indigenous cultures, account for a gradual loss of language. This is verified, above all, in the younger generations, whatever they are at a distance from the ancestral culture and language, thus losing their Kichwa cultural identity. With this background they consider the present research project at the Alonso Ati rural school in The community of San Francisco Collanas, Canton Salcedo, Cotopaxi Province, set out to determine the factors that influence the disuse of the Kichwa language in school children and how an educommunication proposal can strengthen its use.The methodology that was used was qualitative, a focus group and specialized interviews with key actors in the teaching-learning process were carried out, which resulted in the fact that children stop using the language due to the following factors: Disinterest and resistance by the new generations to use the language in question, in addition to the lack of implementation of the Intercultural Bilingual Education by the institution. When identifying the main situations for which boys and girls stopped using the language, educommunication workshops were developed with their direct participation in the production process and also with the use of the Kichwa language, at the end it was proved that the uses of New technologies for the development of communicational products in the classroom permeated in a revaluation of the language.
