Resumo:Electromechanical Engineering career in cooperation with Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Faculty (CAREN), promote projects to improve the development of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Experimental and Producction Salache Center has 7 hectares for the production of cultivation, of which 4 hectares divided into 5 plots has an irrigation system distributed by a reserve tank of 1000 m3 located in the area the highest of the place; one of the activities that develop is the raising of animals, with the cultivation of alfalfa which serves exclusively for their food; the water as a resource is minimally used for irrigation of the 5 plots; and don’t have an automatic irrigation system thas is why doesn´t have the proper control of the process. The plot one which is to near the reserve tank and with a minimum slope compared to the remaining 4 doesn´t have a favorable irrigation by gravity producing very low levels of pressure and flow in the sprinklers. Through field research and modeling and simulation method arise alternatives to solution the problem and is implemented control devices and wireless communication selected from the requirements system. For the irrigation of 5 plots is determined a total flow rate of 0.0308 m3/s at a pressure of 206.843 kPa required for a proper functioning with the control module that consists of a PLC, radios, antennas and a monochromatic screen (HMI) which allows to stablish the times for the irrigation of 5 plots according to the need of water and weather conditions, in such a way that it contributes directly to the development of irrigation water, the production of alfalfa and therefore the feeding of livestock.
