Elaboración de bloques nutricionales a base de dos fuentes de selenio (quelatado y no quelatado) para vacas lecheras

The research "Elaboration of nutritional blocks based on two sources of selenium (chelated and non-chelated) for dairy cows" was carried out in the Joséguango Bajo parish of Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi province. It was evaluated the behavior of 12 crossbred cows in production, distributed in 3 treatments: T0 - (control treatment with basic feeding), T1 (nutritional block with chelated selenium) and T2 ((nutritional block with non-chelated selenium); with 4 low repetitions a Completely Random Design (DCA). Initially, the laboratory analysis of the quality of the nutritional blocks, the quality of milk samples before the trial and a serological analysis of part of the cows that entered the trial were performed, to perform a descriptive and comparative analysis of the results. Then, through the statistical package Infostat, the ADEVA of the weight gain of the animals, milk production, feed consumption is performed. It was observed a significant difference (p> 0.05) in the gain X of weight of the cows in week 1 being the best T2 20 kg / cow average, while in weeks 2, 3 and 4 there are no statistical differences. Regarding the increase in milk production during the test period, the differences are not significant for the three treatments. Regarding the Cost / Benefit (C / B) analysis performed between treatments T1 and T2, it is observed that when using T2 (block with non-chelated Selenium) it was better with a C / B of 1.25 USD.
