| Sumari: | This research was realized in Rio Blanco Alto neighborhood, Tanicuchi Parish, Latacunga city, Cotopaxi province. Aimed to evaluate a commercial strain of Rhizobium in alfalfa (Medicago sativa) to three levels of application and two cutting times, this was carried out on Mr. Gustavo Toaquiza’s property, located at an altitude of 2850 meters, with the purpose to improve the production of the species under study, which variables studied were: % regrowth at 7 and 14 days after application, plant height, biomass per plant, number of nodules on the root and crop yield. The experimental block design was completely randomized DBCA with factorial arrangement 3 * 2 + 1, with 4 repetitions, with analysis of variance ANOVA, to rank treatments, and for the significant results, was applied the test of Tukey 5%. Statistical analyzes show that the best treatment was T1 with a concentration of 1 x 109 CFU / lt in interaction with the second cut made, resulting in regrowth for % 7 days worth 90.79% outperforming T0 with a 88.65%; at 14 days T1 gives a value of 95.15% in difference with T0 that gives a value of 99.37%, beating T1 in regrowth. For plants height, T1 obteined 57.58 cm in evaluated plants, and T0 (57.77 cm) surpassing T1; Biomass variable in T1 reaches a value of 46.23 g in average plant, T0 has an average of 48.63 g. exceeding this value to T1. In fact of number of nodules on the root, the average per plant for T1 is 31.75 unlike the results for T0 was 14.95; for performance, T1 has a value of 3567.50 kg / ha protruding T0 with a value of 5700.00 Kg / ha. |
