| Sumari: | The present research was focused on the study of the influence of songs as a strategy for stimulating language in children, considering that this area of development is fundamental for communicative process and for generating significant learning. The children evident issue was a low level of language development on comprehensive and expressive area, which makes the learning process difficult, as well as the lack of use of songs as a didactic strategy to improve these skills in the students. On the contrary, songs are used by teacher as a distraction or as part of the initial activities to motivate students and not to strengthen the language area. The objective of the research is to identify the influence of songs for language stimulation of second year students of the “Leonardo Moscoso Moreno” Basic Education School located in the Pujilí Canton, Cotopaxi Province, in the Isinche Grande neighborhood, period 2023. The methodology applied in this study was a qualitative approach, the selected method was inductive; for data collection, the interview technique for teacher and observation for students were used. The results of the research show that students have a favorable response to the use of songs, which favorably affects the development of language through this strategy; however, teachers use songs as a recreational element for students and they do not take advantage of potential for language development. To face with this problem, an interactive songbook was developed in Genially with four units that contain songs for vowels, the alphabet, telling stories and to stimulate language, as well as didactic activities to promote the use of songs as a strategy potential for developing students' language. The contribution of the research lies in encouraging teachers to develop didactic activities based on songs to stimulate the development of linguistic skills, promoting the recognition of new words, formulation of sentences, strengthening understanding, among other skills in students. |
