Evaluación de 3 dosis de óxido de zinc (1 g – 1,5 g – 2 g) en destete de lechones en el criadero “Agrocerdos” en Latacunga – Cotopaxi

This research was conducted in the Canton Latacunga, Cotopaxi Province, the proposed objectives were to evaluate three doses of zinc oxide (1 g - 1.5 g - 2 g) in weaning piglets by oral administration, to demonstrate its effect on the production parameters in the kennel "AgroCerdos" as well as determine the production parameters of piglets by adding zinc oxide to the diet to determine their effectiveness in promoting growth. In which 16 piglets ouer 21 days of age were used, with initial average weight of 7.3 kg in 4 treatments: T0 (oxide of zinc); T1 (1 g zinc oxide); T2 (1.5 g zinc oxide) and T3 (2 g of zinc oxide) was applied design completely random (DCA). The evaluated variables were weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion and cost-benefit ratio. After the research resulted in the average weight gain was 2.3 kg; 2.2 kg; 2 kg and 2.3 kg respectively. To feed conversion turned out to be the best T1 (1kg), T2 and T3 with (1.1 kg) and higher conversion with T0 (1.3 kg), therefore it can be considered the use of zinc oxide in the diet. The feed intake weekly it had no difference because the food according to age was given, with results expected and the relationship cost-benefit was obtained a higher cost of pig and the benefit it is equal for both experimental treatments as the witness. It is concluded that the research did not significantly improve the evaluated variables which may have been caused by environmental factors or control in piglets.
