Итог:The Gas Plant of the Amazonas Refinery, located in Shushufindi, Sucumbios province, produces 280 tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas LPG, plus 200 gallons per day of other liquefiables. The obtained LPG has a high concentration of sulfur (21 ppm H2S) resulting in corrosiveness values over the accepted specifications in the country (<4 ppm). A study addressing GLP corrosivity determined high environmental and structural risks in the gas processing phase. The level of corrosivity found in the GLP shows acid compounds containing sulfur incompatible for direct use and marketing. GLP showed values up 4a under the assay "Copper Corrosion strip" performed according to the Standard INEN NTE-678, which allows a maximum value of 1. The GLP acidity caused by H2S is the greatest threat and source of risk for both living beings and to anthropogenic ecosystems. The structural impact of the loss of thickness in the walls of pipes and Tees that conducts LPG constitutes a threat and a source of risk and danger to the operation. Implementing a H2S removal system based on granular iron as reactant in a fixed bed is recommended. The chemical reacts with hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and certain mercaptans (RHS) and immobilizes them. The fixed bed technology reagent is recommended considering the financial and management aspects of the operation.
