“Prevalencia de brucelosis ovina en el cantón Pastaza Ecuador”.

The objective of the research was to determine the prevalence of Brucella in sheep from the Pastaza canton, in order to acquire a health perspective of the farms, a sample of 101 animals was taken from 7 herds registered in Agrocalidad, belonging to the parishes of Fátima, Pomona , Veracruz, Simón Bolívar and Cantón Puyo, the Rosa de Bengala (RB) and confirmatory competitive ELISA test was run, the collection of the samples was made from December 2020 to January 2021, they were taken from jugular vein, after disinfection of the area, with a needle with a 4 ml vacutainer® tube under vacuum, and let them rest for 10 minutes to wait for the formation of the serum, the RB test was performed in the Agrocalidad laboratories and the In the LIVEXLAB CIA LTDA accredited laboratory in the city of Quito, the seroprevalence per herd showed 4.16% (n = 1/24) for the Pastaza Experimental Station and 8.33% (n = 1/12) for the ranch El Naranjal, the general seroprevalence was determined at 1.99% in sheep diagnosed by the RB and ELISAc method as a confirmatory test (2/101), the presence of Brucella was established in 2 males of the total sheep, with a 3.07% prevalence, the positive animals were adults that represented 13.33% and the Pelibuey breed with 4.35%, which is a very interesting data, since it becomes an important tool of the informative, for the farms controlled by Agrocalidad, as well as for the control entity of these zoonotic diseases, by detailing the epidemiological behavior of the evaluated parishes of the province of Pastaza.
