Sumari:The research was carried out at Quinta Hortensia located in the Pujili Canton, Patoa de Vallejo sector, where the objective was evaluated the productive parameters, ethology and compliance with animal welfare in the raising of Creole hens, under a free-range or semi-grazing "happy hen" system, due to in recent years there has been an increase in the demand for eggs produced under this system, so, when measuring productive parameters, we developed the analysis using descriptive statistics with emphasis on the measures of central tendency in each of the variables and the duration of the study was 10 weeks. Establishing the follow results that validate the sustainability of this system. Therefore, a total of 250 hens of approximately 20 weeks were used and it was determined that each hen consumes 0.081± 0.002 kg of balanced feed/day; average egg weight 0.061 kg egg/bird/day; 1.514 ± 0.464 kg weight/bird; a feed conversion of 2.64 with a standard deviation of 0.58; as for the bromatological analysis it was determined that the eggs have: 61.83% moisture, 38.17% dry matter, 7.10% protein, N/D fiber, 4.90% fat, 0.98% ash and 99.02% organic matter and the amount of money used to be able to produce an egg is $ 0.10 USD /bird/day, concluding that is obtaining excellent profitability using materials from the area leaving aside conventional breeding and guaranteeing animal welfare avoiding confinement of birds and indiscriminate application of antibiotics.
