Crynodeb: | The milk sector of the country has suffered trying to obtain a fair price for milk and trying to obtain profitability from this activity, this work serves to derive the economic values of bovine milk production in the San Buenaventura parish, using utility functions. The methodology was carried out by sharing the project with producers in the area, data collection and records: production costs, milk density, cattle weight measurements, mastitis test using the California Mastitis Test (CTM), among others. . parameters of interest. The results showed that a minority of the producers in the area participated in this project, since it was socialized in 4 neighborhoods of the parish, but people had reservations about allowing students to have contact with their animals, this study was carried out with 5 producers, who gave us the opportunity to include their animals in the genetic improvement project. Only one of them had productive and reproductive records. All of them did not realize or did not have the knowledge to carry out the production costs. On the other hand, the density of cow's milk mostly complied with the established parameters (1028 to 1033 g/ml), with an average of 1029 providing a good quality of milk fat. 91% of the cows presented low number of somatic cells in the CMT test, showing a good resistance of the cows. Therefore, this work showed that most producers do not perform adequate management of the milk production system, however, this project is a baseline to take genetic selection criteria, associated with the economic utility of the systems. of livestock production, choosing the cattle with the best yields for genetic improvement. |
