Streszczenie: | This research focused on the evaluation and analysis of the leisure and recreational activities of tourists visiting the province of Chimborazo before and after the state of emergency, with the purpose of understanding the evolution of their behavior in different contexts. To achieve this, a longitudinal methodology with a quantitative approach was used, based on the application of 385 surveys in nine tourist sites in the province. These surveys were carried out using non-probabilistic sampling, due to the large number of potential participants. The information collected covered variables such as: tourist activities, frequency, travel companions and associated expenses. The data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon statistical test, allowing us to identify significant changes in the behavior of tourists before and after the state of emergency. The results highlight that, based on the analysis of the 4 variables, data were obtained that indicate the change that occurred in the activities during the period prior to the restrictions, with 15.1% corresponding to virtual meetings that were carried out mostly by families that were located kilometers away; while with 6% or less, people carried out activities such as crafts, reading books and cooking. While in the variable such as frequency, the daily time period can be identified with a value of 31 to 25 tourists who carried out some activity, there being a reduction of 19.4%.In the variable referring to the companion with whom they carried out their activities, before the state of emergency there was a total of 181 tourists who traveled accompanied by friends, while after the state of emergency only 73 tourists traveled accompanied, a reduction of 59.7%. Finally, in the variable that represents the expenses they had on each trip or outing, with an expense of $0 to $100 before the state of emergency, 165 tourists decreased to 159, which represents a not very significant reduction of 3.6%; while from $201 to $300 were the expenses made by 49 people before the state of emergency and after the health emergency, a total of 23 tourists made the same expense, which represents a 53.1% reduction. |
