Čoahkkáigeassu:Patopamba moorland, which is placed in Juan Montalvo parish, Latacunga city, is a strategic place for water production because it has a high potential to offer the country in providing environmental services. The proposed objectives and activities designed in the project, involve the participation of public, private institutions and civil society (“Santán Chico” Water Committee) committed to the conservation of the moors, for the creation of alternative sustainable management of natural resources. Research focuses on current socio-environmental topics like main base for the establishment of management strategies, so in structure, Chapter I, points out general information about the moor, classification, importance and details the main environmental services that it provides (water), with this research claims for its conservation. The methodology used in Chapter II allow us to describe a real and objective baseline of the project through a situational diagnosis of Patopamba moor in which we could observe degraded areas affecting some processes that are generated here, in addition, a diagnosis of the Santán Chico neighborhood allowed us to verify that their livelihood is agriculture, becoming the moor in a strategic ecosystem, which is its resource provider. The data obtained in volume measurement of outcrop of the area, they achieved important data registering a monthly average of 7.7475 l/s during the project represented an acceptable value. The statistics of the training carried out at the “Santán Chico” Water Committee, achieved takes conscience in 95% of assistants at the three topics given by applicants and a specialist who gave his collaboration Thus, Chapter III consider proposals for conservation activities to stop the deterioration of these ecosystems, in an interinstutional work, where the Water Committee gave us some information to develop the management plan that is an important tool for the moor so trough this people can lead to maintain and preserve: water outcrops and the buffer zone, as well as to pursue development of its inhabitants. The management plan is important to understand the logic of management and development activities for the conservation of resources, because that allows to make the proposed activities of an organized and orderly way at the time proposed for each event in order to ease the conservation of natural resources without omitting the human aspect.
