要約:The purpose of this research was to obtain information on the Mastofauna species in the Novillopungo irrigation project located in the Llanganates National Park in the Salcedo Canton of the Cotopaxi Province, due to its relevance to the research area. Which allowed to identify the current state of mammal species, through primary and secondary information part of the research carried out in the study area, using as references Red Books of Mammals of Ecuador (IUCN), scientific articles. In our research we based ourselves on carrying out an inventory of mammals through field trips, GPS, field notebook and camera were used. The inventory is based on qualitative data from the list of registered species and the analysis of ecological aspects, while the quantitative data refers to statistical parameters. The methods that were used were direct observation, identification of tracks, transects, interviews and knowing the conservation status of the species. In addition, none of these methodologies used causes damage to the different species existing in the study areas. As a result, there are 43 individuals, distributors in 9 species and belonging to 5 orders that are: Artiodactyl, Carnivora, Didelphimorphia, Lagomorpha and Rodentia, of these orders make up 9 families in which 5 are endemic. Likewise, 9 species are in some threat category; 5 Least Concern (LC) species; 2 species Near Threatened (NT); 1 Vulnerable species (V); 1 species is Endangered (EN), according to data from the red book of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for the year 2021. The Huagrahuasi community and the Sacha community located in the Salcedo Canton were interviewed. necessary since with this it was possible to identify 70 individuals, distributors in 10 species of mammals that exist in this site, since the inhabitants have been able to constantly visit this place. This area has been little explored and studied, of this mastofaunistic component, it is just beginning to be known, however the diversity and abundance found between 3800 and 4100 masl is High. More in-depth studies and standardized methods are required to know details of these communities of mammalian species.
