Sumario:The objective of this work was to determine the relationship between the levels of emotional intelligence and interpersonal conflicts of the collaborators of the administrative area of the Public Company of Cleaning and Environmental Management of Latacunga Canton (EPAGAL). Emotional intelligence has been considered an essential component to effectively manage interpersonal conflicts. The ability of collaborators to understand and manage their own emotions, as well as those of their colleagues, plays a crucial role in building healthy work relationships. A nonexperimental, cross-sectional, correlational, descriptive, and descriptive methodology with a quantitative approach was used to analyze the data obtained. The study population consisted of 30 collaborators in the administrative area. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used to process the data. The results revealed that the level of emotional intelligence of the collaborators is high at 86.66% and medium level at 13.34%. In the Pearson correlation a coefficient of -0.277 was obtained indicating a significant correlation between the study variables, based on these results it is concluded that as emotional intelligence increases, the tendency to experience interpersonal conflicts tends to decrease. Finally, a proposal has been developed to increase the levels of emotional intelligence in the collaborators which are, creative exploration, development of emotional awareness, development of empathy and social skills in the team, listing of emotional goals, training in emotional resilience, implementation of mentoring programs, time management workshop, open and honest communication, development of empathy skills and recognition of achievements.
