Para ello se recurre a medios y estrategias que trabajan las capacidades más básicas del ser humano: las sensaciones, la percepción y la integración sensorial. La estimulación multisensorial tiene muchas cosas en común con la estimulación temprana, de hecho es estimulación temprana es terapéutico, La estimulación multisensorial es la utilización de diferentes métodos tanto cualitativos como cuantitativos. Las técnicas que se utilizó son entrevistas y encuesta con la cual obtenemos información. De hecho la estimulación es siempre "sensorial" pues es sólo a través de los sentidos se puede estimular, y cuántos más sentidos implique haciendo estimulación "multisensorial", mejores serán los resultados y mayores los beneficios.
