| Summary: | The research carried out had the objective of updating the inventory of tourist attractions and identifying the tourist products of the Mulaló, Joseguango Bajo and Aláquez parishes, located in the Latacunga canton, the problem of the three study parishes revolves around the perceived limitations in terms of outdated tourist information and the limited studies of the existing attractions, generating demotivation to visit the place. For this, a methodology with a qualitative approach was used that included bibliographic, descriptive and field research, using techniques such as direct observation, interviews and focus groups. The first objective set for the investigation is to update the inventory of tourist attractions through the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), this objective allowed the generation of an updated database of the tourist attractions of the parishes, finding that Mulaló has 17 tourist attractions, of which 3 are cultural attractions and 14 are natural tourist attractions. while in the Joseguango Bajo parish, 9 tourist attractions were identified, of which 8 are cultural tourist attractions and 1 is a natural attraction; and finally, Aláquez has 10 tourist attractions, 5 of them are natural attractions and 5 cultural attractions respectively. It was possible to determine that the natural and cultural attractions predominate in Mulaló. As for the second objective of inventorying tourist products, the Manual for the Planning of Tourist Products was used to inventory the existing ones, finding two routes in Aláquez and one in Mulaló named "Ruta Cara Sur del volcán Cotopaxi", but in Joseguango Bajo none was identified, reason for the design of a new tourist product called "Walking trails and culture in Joseguango Bajo and Mulaló". This new route has a cultural and natural theme focused on national and foreign tourists between 25 and 45 years old. |
