| Gaia: | This research was conducted in the “Santa Isabel Farms” flowers company, located in the Eloy Alfaro Parish, Latacunga City, Cotopaxi Province, at 7 km northwest of the Latacunga city. The site is located at an altitude of 2 768 m, whose geographical coordinates are 78 ° 34 ' west longitude and 1 º 02 ' South Latitude (GPS). The company provided low levels of production, what was required to perform improvements to their processes to reduce time and thus be more competitive and meet market demands carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus). The type of research that was used was the field and descriptive, as this allowed us to identify the factors that affect production. The purpose of this study is first to identify the major factors that adversely affect the production process of the carnation through making a diagnosis using techniques such as interviews and field research, so that the final formulation of a proposal the same consisting to develop Processes and Procedures Manual, to standardize procedures and procedures in the company. The Plan of Action to implement the Process and Procedures Manual has the following structure: Actions of a technical nature, which is basically physical development of the Manual. Organizational actions, that is to review the handbook and ordering the conduct of a workshop to train staff on the handling and use of this manual. Then implement a systematic monitoring of workers' daily activities by implementing the procedure mandated work and work done, meaning that all daily tasks designated by the head of the farm must be performed at set times each. Training activities, for which talks are, scheduled all processes related to crop management, based on Process and Procedures Manual and thus maintain consistent and updated knowledge of staff, thus avoiding forgetting. Finally, we have demonstrated quantitatively that the improvements to processes to reduce downtime in the different activities generate employees for lack of control or expertise can reduce costs and thus achieve better efficiency and effectiveness in processes, which are beneficial for the flower, which also serve as a model for others engaged in flower production of carnations to improve their performance. |
