Description
Résumé:Ecuador is an agricultural-livestock country given the fertility of its environment, however, inefficiency is evident in most of these productions, generating low profitability, including pig production. For this reason, it is necessary to improve the reproduction indices in pigs, through appropriate biotechnological processes, for which the semen quality contributes to the determination of the predictive value of pregnancy, however, during the collection, processing and Insemination, bacterial contamination could occur, which will affect the level of fertility. Under this context, the diversity of microorganisms contained in the semen of porcine breeders and its relationship with reproductive potential was evaluated. The investigation included three crossbred pigs: Belgian White, Yorkshire Landrace, and Landrace Pietrain, aged 1, 3.5, and 1.9 years, respectively. Subjected to the same handling, feeding, sanitation and technique for obtaining semen samples from a gloved hand on a fixed mannequin, the same that is carried out in an established period of time between collections, being 7 days, later the quality of the samples was determined. same.
