總結:The research project was aimed at studying alkaline soils at the Technical University of Cotopaxi Sector of Salache, with a height of 2800 meters above sea level. In a sandy, frank soil with a pH of 10.40, pH was evaluated in alkaline soils where three pH improvers were used in amaranth culture (Amaranthus cruentus l.) Salache Sector, Latacunga Canton, Cotopaxi Province 2021. Three pH improvers (agricultural gypsum, urea, ammonium sulphate) were applied, with an experimental design of random complete blocks in a 3X3 1 factorial arrangement with 3 repetitions. The results achieved in the percentage of seedlings adapted in the pH improver with ammonium sulphate have an average of 83.34 %. The pH improvers used in the variable plant height in the different data-taking periods, resulting in the best average being occupied by agricultural gypsum and urea at 80 days with 5.79; 5.71 Treatment T1 (agricultural gypsum 600 kg/ha) and T4 (urea 600kg/ha). The variable number of leaves at 40 days where there is significance in the interaction A3B2 (Ammonium sulfate at a dose of 800kg/ha), with averages of 6.5; 6.47;6.37;6.3;6.2. The stem diameter variable at 40 and 60 days was significant and the coefficients of variation of 7.7 and 8.96% were obtained. In the final soil analysis the pH improver located in the first significant range is urea, with a pH of 10.40 at the beginning and at the end pH of 9.51. Therefore, it is recommended to use the urea pH improver to lower the pH of alkaline soils.
