The technical guidelines for the postulation were reviewed, that were found on the official website of World Geoparks from United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) so the following guidelines or forms were found that are, The application file indicating in detail the proposed place (Description of the area of Quilotoa and its enviroments), Identification of the area of study (Biodiversity), Geological Heritage, Geoconservation, Economic Activities and Interest as well as, arguments reasoned for the integration to the Global Geoparks Network (RGG) Geological and geographical map showing the location of the future Geopark and a self-assessment form of the proposed Geopark. In order to carry out the design of the proposal, a form was selected regarding the environmental scope that was the application file and with the aid of direct observation, documentary analysis and the field phase, the form was completed. The results obtained from the research were to know the geographic boundary and to identify the characteristics of the biotic, and socioeconomic component of the study area. |

The results obtained from the research were to know the geographic boundary and to identify the characteristics of the biotic, and socioeconomic component of the study area.El presente trabajo investigativo, el objetivo principal fue diseñar una propuesta para declarar al área del Quilotoa y su entorno como Geoparque mundial de la Unesco, ubicado en la Parroquia de Zumbahua, que pertenece al cantón Pujilí y límite del cantón Sigchos de la Provincia de Cotopaxi - Ecuador. Se revisaron los lineamientos técnicos para la postulación mismos que se encontraron en la página oficial de Geoparques Mundiales de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO) de tal forma se encontró los siguientes lineamientos o formularios que son, el expediente de solicitud que indica en detalle del lugar propuesto (Descripción del área del Quilotoa y su entorno), la Identificación del área de estudio (Biodiversidad), Patrimonio Geológico, Geoconservación, Actividades Económicas e Interés así como, Argumentos razonados para la integración a la Red Global de Geoparques (RGG), una plantilla geológica y geográfica que muestra en un mapa la ubicación del futuro Geoparque y un formulario de auto evaluación del Geoparque propuesto. Para realizar el diseño de la propuesta se seleccionó un formulario referente al ámbito ambiental que fue el expediente de solicitud y con la ayuda de la observación directa, análisis documental y la fase de campo se culminó dicho formulario.
