Résumé: | The present work was accomplished in the Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi Province, the same one that had as objective to evaluate the interpretative potential of the hiking sites for a sustainable use and public use. The research has a qualitative approach with a descriptive scope, through the application of interviews, surveys which allowed a statistical analysis and justification of these. In the first objective, inductive, descriptive and direct observation methodologies were applied, with the help of techniques such as mapping of actors in the area of tourism, in this case they are the autonomous decentralized parish governments, Latacunga tourism directorate, national guides and tour operators who interviews were conducted, with respect to the surveys, it was applied to visitors to the canton in strategic places. The identification of 13 hiking sites was obtained as a result, in addition each of these are evaluated and justified with the parameters of Morales in a general way, it is worth mentioning that a count of parameters of all the spaces was carried out and only 4 complied with all of them. the requirements. The profile of the visitor, in the demographic variable, 97.50% are of Ecuadorian nationality and reside in the province of Pichincha, in the socioeconomic part, 58.2% are willing to pay $10-15 a day for hiking activities, preferably the 41.4% of those surveyed do this outdoor activity once a month and 52.1% prefer a self-guided modality, finally in the evaluation of the hiking sites they have visited, 21.97% have been at site 1 walk around the Limpiopungo lagoon and the one that has been done the least with 2.06% is site 10.Cerro Morurco, Burruhuayco canyon and Chuquiragua waterfall. 51.4% fully agree that the sites have development potential for hiking activities. The second objective was the inductive, descriptive, exploratory and direct observation method, with techniques such as the file to qualify each natural resource in the 4 hiking sites accompanied by the score table to determine the potential interpretive index (IPI), as well as its scale (IPI) and inventory of their physical conditions and georeferencing mapping, this methodology was based on Morales, Lozano among others. As a result, the score of 35.3 was obtained in the Limpiopungo lagoon with a range of 0.77 having a very high (IPI), then there is the Cunuyacu waterfall and hot springs with 29.3 with a range of 0.62 with a high (IPI), these two they are the ones that obtained the most points of the 4 spaces. Finally, in the third objective, the inductive and analytical method was used with the SWOT analysis technique, based on the author Ponce, the strengths, opportunities and internal threats (accessibility, signage, adaptation and attractiveness) and external ones (promotion and competition) of the sites, after which a search was made for internal strengths and weaknesses (IFEM), as well as opportunities and threats (EFEM), where each one stood, a weight of 0.0 -1.0, and a rating between 1 to 4 to have a weighted, then the external internal matrix was launched and finally strategies were developed with the help of an analytical table with SWOT. As a result, a weight of 3.45 and (EFEM) 3.85 were obtained in the (IFEM) of the Limpiopungo lagoon. While the waterfalls and hot springs of Cunuyacu in the (IFEM) a weight of 3.7, and (EFEM) a weight of 3.6. With these scores we proceeded to see what types of strategies had to be carried out in this case it is to grow and build since in the internal external matrix it is placed in quadrant I, II, IV, for the development of the strategies it was taken into counts strengths with opportunities, weaknesses with opportunities, strengths with threats, and weaknesses with threat, these focused on improving hiking sites for sustainable public use. |
