Riassunto:The research project; morphological characterization of the Cedar (Cedrela odorata) took place in the bioclimatic floors wet evergreen forest and lower montane evergreen piemontano of Western Cordillera of the Andes, was divided into 3 altitudinal zones (high, medium, and low) from the 300 meters above sea level up to 3100 meters above sea level, where it was determined the different weather conditions existing in the Tingo - The Hope of the Sector The Mana. The objective of the project was to carry out the morphological characterization of the forest species Cedar (Cedrela odorata) using qualitative and quantitative descriptors. It was recognized the area in-situ and withthe help of a GPS, georreferencio The area, delimiting the altitudinal zones. Identified the presence of individuals in the middle and upper altitudinal zones for the verification of the distribution of the species Cedar, this served to meet the population density of the species. Once you have identified the distribution of the species were collected samples of tree species Cedar (Cedrela odorata), for which 20 individuals were selected for each altitudinal zone, with a similar diameter of the stem, which allowed to obtain a homogeneous characterization. For the morphological characterization of the species 15 qualitative descriptors were used to whom a 6 percentage statistical analysis and quantitative descriptors that are carried out a statistical analysis of data, and a multivariate analysis of principal components to observe the existence of morphological variability. Based on the results obtained in the montane evergreen forest and lower montane evergreen forests of the western cordillera of the Andes, statistical analysis and multivariate analyzes (main components) where allowed to observe the existence of morphological variability between the two altitudinal zones. The results of the characterization of the Cedar presents a rounded crown , type of fuste straight, the kind of bark fissured tongue , with a color of the rind, depending on the scale of munsell (10YR 3/6) yellowish brown, the color of the upper face of the sheet according to the scale of munsell (10gGY 4/14) light green color of the underside of the leaf (10 Gy 7/16) yellowish green, lanceolate leaf shape , form the apex apiculada , shape of the base is grayed out , the form of the entire sheet, by the shape of the leaf blade simple , the type of rib penninervia , by the provision of normal stem presents a petiole. In the upper area records the highest average diameter of the stem with 320.70 cm, tree height 28 m, length of the petiole 1.05 cm, width of the sheet 3.50 cm, length of the sheet 10.46 cm.
