Por lo mencionado fue necesario plantear la investigación Adaptación y Rendimiento de cuatro variedades de trigo (Triticum aestivum L.) con dos fertilizantes químico y orgánico; en Salache Bajo- Latacunga -Provincia de Cotopaxi 2015. Sus objetivos específicos fueron: Identificar cuál de las cuatro variedades de trigo (Triticum aestivum L.) se adapta en la localidad; Determinar el efecto de los dos fertilizantes y el rendimiento en las diferentes variedades. Realizar un análisis costo/beneficio. Las variedades de trigo se obtuvieron del Banco de semillas de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi. Estas fueron INIAP Mirador 2010; INIAP San Jacinto 2010; INIAP Cojitambo 92; INIAP Vivar 2010; Las mismas fueron fertilizadas a la siembra con 10-30-10 + Urea y abono orgánico EcoAbonaza dosificadas de acuerdo al análisis de suelo y al requerimiento del cultivo con un testigo. Se empleó un diseño de Bloques Completamente al Azar (DBCA) en un arreglo factorial de 4 x 3 x 3. En la investigación no se determinó en su interacción A x B, significación estadística, por lo cual cada factor estudiado es independiente sobre la adaptación y productividad del trigo. La variedad que mostro las mejores características agronómicas fue la variedad INIAP Mirador 2010, con mayor porcentaje de emergencia de 75,56 %; número de espiguillas/espiga con 101,44; longitud de la espiga de 10 cm. y rendimiento del cultivo 1414,97 kg. El mayor índice de beneficio / costo de 1,40 USD.
