الملخص:The present work was carried out in San Antonio de Manguila - La Maná Canton, Cotopaxi Province, to study the agronomic performance of three melon hybrids (Cucumis melo) under plastic cover. For this purpose, a Completely Randomized Block Design (CSBD), three treatments and seven replications were applied. The statistical analysis was carried out using Tukey's test at 5% probability, the treatments study was the following: T1= Hybrid Edisto; T2= Hybrid Cantaloupe Di Charentais, T3= Hybrid Retato Degli Ortolani. The variables for this work were germination percentage (%), plant height (cm), number of flowers, melon fruit cycle (mm) which was evaluated from fruit set with an interval of 7 days until the fruit reached 35 days, equatorial diameter of the harvested fruit (mm), polar diameter of the harvested fruit (mm), fruit weight (kg), yield, brix degrees (°) and a benefit/cost analysis. As a result, T2 presented highly significant differences in variables such as melon fruit cycle, polar and equatorial diameter of the harvested fruit, while T3 stood out in the variable number of male flowers with 52.52 female flowers with 5.31 flowers, while T2 stood out in germination percentage with 98%, plant height 260.33 cm at 90 days, melon fruit cycle with an equatorial diameter at 35 days of 527.67 mm, and a polar diameter of 215.33 mm, equatorial diameter of the harvested fruit with 559 mm, polar diameter of the harvested fruit with 231 mm, fruit weight 1.93 kg, brix degrees 11.67°, production per treatment with 13 fruits.
