With this, it is possible to specify methodological strategies to enhance academic performance in the area of Mathematics, to provide alternative solutions with the aim of dynamizing, optimizing the teaching-learning process and reducing the rate of students with low academic performance in basic operations. in the area of Mathematics.El presente trabajo de investigación aborda el bajo rendimiento académico en el área de Matemática de los estudiantes del cuarto año de Educación General Básica de la Unidad Educativa “Emilio Terán”, siendo un factor relevante que interviene en la problemática la no utilización de Estrategias Metodológicas activas por parte de los docentes, para lo cual se plantea la implementación de Estrategias Metodológicas para fortalecer el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de las operaciones básicas. La metodología utilizada es el enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, se recopila información mediante el análisis e interpretación bibliográfica, análisis de productos y técnicas como la prueba de diagnóstico, encuestas, entrevistas, centradas en el estudiante y actores educativos que posteriormente son analizadas e interpretadas mediante la estadística para establecer cálculos porcentuales.
