| Summary: | The following project was conducted in Cotopaxi Province (Eloy Alfaro Parrish, Salache neighborhood) in the experimental center from the University of Cotopaxi, essentially at the ovine project installations, where 40 ovine species belonging to different categories were used to be named as Animal Units. After being categorized, Dorper, Merino and Kathadin pedigrees made up a total number of 28, AN. The main aim of this research project was to establish the ovine consumption of food among different categories through animal load quantification so as to avoid overgrazing by determining animal stay-time at pastures. For every parameter and result, plot dimensions on m2 were taken. Currently, pasture samples were taken before grazing and post-grazing to get amount of pasture on m2. Subsequently, sample dehydration was achieved by using a stove, in order to obtain dry matter and see a calculation of food consumption. After research, plot number 10 shown a massive rate of food consumption on average 621, 3 grams per animal due to high presence of pasture availabity, compared to plot 3 in which it was established the minor percentage on average 341, 85 grams from the total. An excessive load is seen in plot number 6, as such plot accounts on 522, 909 m2, so it is a must to insert 18,4 animals in between named pasture. |
