Evaluación de la Concentración de Material Particulado pm10 y pm2.5 en la Parroquia Eloy Alfaro de la Provincia de Cotopaxi en el periodo 2019.

The objective of this research project was to evaluate the concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 particulate matter in Eloy Alfaro parish generated by vehicular traffic and due to the increase of industries in this parish, also it pretends to know how air conditions are as well as particulate matter, in order to achieve the objectives, the identification of two central points for monitoring was carried out, at each point two monitoring was carried out during 24 hours each, for the PM10 concentration it was compared with the limits authorized for the current Ecuadorian regulations that stipulate a value of 100 µg / m3; and for the concentration of PM2.5 it was compared with the authorized limits of the current Ecuadorian regulations that propose a value of 50 µg / m3, to carry out the monitoring, it applied the E-BAM Equipment, covered by the TULSMA Regulations Book VI Annex 4 on Air Quality supported by the EPA 40 CFR International Standard Appendix E_to_part_58, which helped with the methodological process for monitoring and results analyzing. The average concentrations obtained at the two points selected for monitoring were: at point one, Loma Grande showed concentrations of PM10 6.96 µg / m3 and PM2.5 4.33 µg / m3; at point two, La Calera showed concentrations of PM10 23.21 µg / m3 and PM2.5 13.21 µg / m3. Through this research, information was generated that will be useful as a starting point for future research regarding particulate matter in Eloy Alfaro parish. Once the results have been analyzed and compared with the TULSMA Standard, Book VI Annex 4 on Air Quality, they show that the concentrations of particulate matter in Eloy Alfaro parish are within the maximum authorized limits, but in the sampling carried out there are high values that cause concern in terms of air conditions. When comparing the concentrations between the two points monitored in the parish, the second point (La Calera) monitored showed a higher concentration of particulate matter in both PM10 and PM2.5, because it is a place of large vehicular traffic during the day and because of there are several industries
