Description
Summary:The principal purpose of this project is the application of a fluorescent magnetic particle bank through the inspection of magnetic particles dissolved in water, in some times we find linear indications formed in the contour or foot of the weld. These indications may come from a real crack or a non-relevant indication caused by the weld geometry. The use of magnetism is mainly to evidence the presence of discontinuities that are open to the surface or very close to it through non-destructive testing with fluorescent magnetic particles to observe cracks or a non-relevant indication caused by the weld geometry. These tests determine the damage that exists in the test tube. The magnetization technique was performed in a dark room with ultraviolet illumination to achieve the current research specifications, applying ASTM E 1444 standards to establish the acceptance criteria for the different imperfections that may occur in the tests. It is essential to demagnetize and clean the parts after each test to avoid false results in the inspection. To visualize the magnetic field is attracted by magnetic field leakage caused by discontinuities.
